Another DIY Halloween Costume (Frugal & Free)!

Capture

Sabine’s son wanted to be a Boxtroll from the movie. The trolls are just people in boxes.

She had a Huggies Pull Up box that she was able to use. She cut the arms and head and used packing tape (to soften the edges).

Her son will wear regular warm clothes under it that match and she’ll paint his face to look dirty like the trolls.

She had everything around the house so her total OOP was $0.

Thanks Sabine!

Family Saved Money on Costumes via Garage Sale & DIY!

CaptureLast year Nicole and her family saved on 2 out of 4 of their costumes.

She purchased this Tinkerbelle costume for her daughter for only $2 via garage sale.

Her husband made his SMEE costume for free!

The blue shirt he already owned, the hat is a Santa hat with the white ball painted red.  And he used reading glasses to complete the outfit.

This year the family dressed as Mickey and Minnie as they recently took a trip to Disney.

Nicole’s costume was a red and white polka dot shirt that she paired with a black skirt and Minnie Mouse ears she snagged for $.75 at garage sale (light up Minnie).

Her daughter is Minnie too and was purchased for $2 via garage sale.

Her husband paid $20 for a Mickey tee (used 20% off Spirit coupon) and they also bought their son an expensive Mickey costume (but used 20% off coupon).

Again they saved big money on 2 of the 4 costumes!

Note to self, go garage saling – thanks Nicole!
